Sun Pictures have managed to get a record price for superstar Rajinikanth’s Shankar directed Enthiran from Kerala. GP Vijayakumar of Seven Arts, leading Malayalam producer and distributor has grabbed the Kerala rights.
The market buzz is that Vijaykumar has purchased the Kerala rights at a whopping Rs 4 to 5 Crore, the highest ever paid for other language film in the state. Remember big Tamil films` Kerala rights are sold for anywhere between Rs 1.5 to Rs 2.25 Crore.
Rajinikanth’s Enthiran has created a new bench mark in sales all over south. The trade pundits feel that it has created new record sales in Andhra, Karnataka and now Kerala. According to trade sources the film has already garnered Rs 40 Crore plus in the sale of theatrical rights from three southern states. The big question now being asked is how much will Enthiran fetch from its core area- Tamil Nadu?
