“I am standing today at this silver jubilee function of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ only because of Dr Vishnuvaradhan”, director of 58 films P Vasu was addressing the poorly attended event at Kanteerava Indoor stadium on Saturday night.
“Dr Vishnuji gave me first film ‘Kathanayaka’ in my career in 1986 and his last film too ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ came to me. The Tamil superstar Rajanikanth told me the first and last film super hit actor in the Indian cinema is Dr Vishnuvaradhan”, P Vasu remembered as the fans arrived applauded.
”I am doing the Telugu remake of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ and remember Dr Vishnu every shot I take. I did not get the affectionate hug of Dr Vishnuvaradhan after the release of ‘Aptha Rakshaka’. He was not with us when the film was released. But the joy of his fans from the success of this film is what I consider as an affectionate hug”, disclosed P Vasu.
P Vasu lauded the actors Srinivasamurthy, Ramesh Bhat, Avinash, Komalkumar, Vinayaprakash the pretty looking mother character, Karnataka’s AR Rahman – music director Gurukiran and the shooting situations with Dr Vishnuji is unforgettable. “When he came in the attire of the king the ‘Howla Howla’ roar is something marvelous. Vishnuji Happy Birthday wherever you are”, P Vasu saluted looking at the sky. “This win is your win”, mentioned the top director.
When associate director Bhasker came to receive the trophy director P Vasu admitted that 50 percent of his direction credit goes to him. P Vasu, Bhasker and Cameraman PKH Doss offered salute to the portrait of Dr Vishnuvaradhan before taking the silver jubilee trophies.
