Karthi & Vaali launches Mallukattu audio stills

Kamala Theatre in Vadapalani, Chennai was packed to capacity and filled with people standing in the aisles right up to the stage, at the grand audio launch of Mallukattu on Saturday evening.

The function was one big, grand affair with several bigwigs of Kollywood adding to the luster of the evening. The audio was launched by Vaali and received by Karthi, in the presence of Vimal, Susindran, Prabhu Solomon, Madhie, SJ Suryah, T Rajender, RB Chowdary, Bharat Reddy, Sargunam, Andal Priyadarshini, Vetri, Snehan, Kalaipuli Thanu, Kasturi Raja and others .

The highlight of the evening was the rapid fire speech by T Rajender who spoke in his inimitable style, wowing the audiences who kept encouraging him for more. He launched into a poetic style speech, with a play on words and spoke about everything from his career, his life and the film’s audio and team.

SJ Suryah was seen in splits, wiping his eyes many a time, while all the dignitaries on stage too were clapping enthusiastically. “Big heroes are like five star hotels. We can’t all afford to drink tea there. In the same way, films with big heroes are five star budget films, which can only be 10 or 12 a year. For the rest of the industry to survive, it’s important to have small producers making small budget films”, Rajender said.

SJ Suryah said that the film is like his own, since the producers, TD Prathapan and Nandagopal were known to him since his New days. The producer duo have a long experience in distribution and this was commented upon by Karthi who said, “Its good that experienced distributors are entering production, for it is they who know the pulse of the audience. Small producers are very important for the industry, but going by the technical display and production values, this does not look like a small budget film at all! I hope that they will ensure good publicity, which is very important for a film’s success.”

Vaali praised the young hero Varun while Kasturi Raja said that since the hero was his nephew, he would like to thank all the guests and also everyone who made it possible in his life, to reach where he was today.

The film’s trailer and three songs were shown. The music is by Taj Noor who worked with AR Rahman earlier, while Pasanaga fame Premkumar has cranked the camera. The heroine is Honey Rose, who was last seen in Singampuli. The film is a rom com, full of action and entertainment, with dollops of emotion and a large cast. The film is the debut of director T Murganandam who worked with Vikraman earlier.
