Ace tennis player Leander Paes revealed on Friday that he would become an actor soon and has already signed four movies. He said this while addressing students at his alma matter, the Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School.
“It’s difficult to keep playing tennis forever. I am now planning to entertain you in films. I have signed on four movies and I am at present working on one,” the tennis star said, amid thunderous cheer from the audience.
Saying that film offers were knocking at his door for 16 years and he kept saying no due to lack of time and place, Paes pointed out that his foray into films was just an extension of his on-court persona.
“I have entertained you with tennis for the last two decades and it has been my vehicle to make friendships and entertain people,” said the winner of multiple grand slams and a bronze medalist at the Atlanta Olympics.
