Urumi, the latest directorial venture of acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan is finding many takers at the ongoing Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF).
The period drama starring Prithvi Raj, Vidya Balan, Genelia D’Souza, Tabu and Prabhu Deva, is among the 28 projects selected from around the world for the event which connects Asian filmmakers to international financiers and distributors.
“The forum is a part of the Hong Kong International Film Festival and it is a great platform for the film to reach out to the international film fraternity. The film’s English version titled ‘Vasco De Gama’ was selected to be a part of the forum and has got a great response,” Sivan told reproters.
The film’s English version is different from its Malayalam and Hindi counterparts, with additional characters, though the story and the ending remains the same, said Sivan.
