Madhuri Dixit after her return to India for judging the show Jhalak Dikhlaja, has been wanted by filmmakers for their movie and has been making measures to approach the dancing diva for a movie, by many producers.
The show showcased many people who are still a dying fan of the Beauty and how many were desperate to just have one look at their favorite star. Many Bollywood Celebrities too wanted to share a talk with the lady and take a snap before she flies off to United States.
But the latest is that Madhuri shocks many by demanding 5 crore as a deal for a movie, which is an amount quoted by the latest Bollywood stars like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, who are ruling the box office.
Though she has been refusing roles to act in movies citing reason that she might have to miss her family and her sons, this salary quote makes people wonder.
Madhuri Dixit’s comeback in 2007 Aaja Nachle was a big bomb at the box office. Though she has given major hits before, during the time she ruled box office, demanding such a money at the age of 40 plus comes as surprise to many.
Madhuri’s manager Rikki was reported to have told, “Yes, Madhuri has asked for five crores. We feel she is definitely worth the price she is quoting. She is a superstar with an enviable fan following even today. So, why shouldn’t she ask for what she deserves? We are sure the filmmakers will gain from the fact that Madhuri Dixit is making a film with them.”
A trade analyst was reported to have said, “Who will give Madhuri five crores now? Though she does have the fan base, she isn’t a top actress anymore. She has been out of the industry and the kind of roles she can do are limited. The roles that she has been approached to play are either sister or mother characters, which she is not too keen to play. She should learn from Amitabh Bachchan. A superstar, who still has roles specially written for him, isn’t demanding that his pay cheque match that of Aamir, Salman, Akshay or SRK. Madhuri needs a reality check. In case someone has a particular script in which only she fits, perhaps she will get the high price.”
Madhuri really thinks she is worth this or does she quote price high ( like many film personalities do) just to get away from the projects is another thought!
