Promising Tamil-Malayalam actress Ayilya aka Ananya, who shot to fame with her amazing performance as a demure sacrificing daughter (Nallamma) in writer-director-actor Sasikumar’s realistic flick Naadodigal directed by Samuthirakani, is quite excited about her upcoming project Seedan, directed by Subramaniam Shiva.
Seedan is the remake of the Malayalam film Nandanam, starring Prithviraj and Navya Nair in the lead roles. “I’m not authorized to speak about Seedan. All I can say is that my role is beautiful. I play a village girl Mahalakshmi (also called Maha), who is a servant working in a big household. The director (Subramaniyam Shiva) has made my character come alive on screen and I’m sure audiences will love it,” she said to a leading English daily.
Another major highlight of Seedan is Dhanush’s cameo appearance. Ananya is also reluctant in enacting glamour roles. “I look more at the character and the way I’m presented on screen. I will not do glamour roles as they do not suit my style and body language. In Tamil cinema, glamour means wearing revealing clothes, which I’m not comfortable with,” she added.
The actress is also busy with her Malayalam film Shikar, where Mohanlal plays her father and Sneha plays her foster mother.
