HC stays award for Keshu

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on tuesday stayed giving award to Malayalam children’s film Keshu directed by Sivan. Justice Antony Dominic said there is no stay in giving awards to other films.

A petition was filed by filmmaker Majid Gulistan seeking the cancellation of the award given to Keshu. The award has come under attack from several quarters since Sivan’s son Sangeeth Sivan was a member of the regional jury.

The court passed the interim order while considering the plea of Majid Gulistan, producer and director of Chithrakuzhal alleging that Keshu was a remake of Pularvettam.

Earlier director Hari Kumar had criticized giving award to the film and said it doesn’t deserve an award.
