Kandahar starts rolling

Army office-turned-filmmaker Major Ravi’s forthcoming Malayalam-Tamil-Telugu trilingual Kandahar, with Mohanlal, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Suniel Shetty in the lead, started rolling in Dehradun at Indian Military Academy(IMA) on June 10.

Mohanlal will join the shoot on June 25 after he completes work on Christian Brothers, while Amitabh Bachchan is expected to join for a three day shoot.

Revolving around the Kandahar Indian Airlines flight hijack incident (1999), the movie will be shot in Kerala, Delhi and Nepal. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as the father of a passenger on the ill-fated plane that was hijacked and Mohanlal will play a commando. The film is expected to be dubbed in Hindi.
