Kandahar team to promote Kerala Tourism

While army officer-turned-filmmaker Major Ravi’s trilingual Kandahar is all set to grace screens on December 16, the makers of the film join hands with Kerala Tourism to promote its Grand Kerala Shopping Festival (GKSF), which began on December 1.

Kandahar is one of the brands associated with promoting Kerala Tourism’s GKSF. A scene from the film has been used for the advertisement, which showcases Mohanlal in military officer’s uniform and Bachchan in civilian clothes. It has a tag line “Hold on! I’m coming too!”

The GKSF is touted as a major shopping festival to attract both domestic and foreign visitors to buy a variety of things in shops across the state. Over 6000 traders had joined the event, offering various rebates and prizes including 101 kg of gold. The event had a turnover of Rs. 4000 crore last year and it was targetted to increase this year to Rs. 5000 crores.
