Lizard causes delay for Udumban release

The release of motorbike racer Dilip Roger’s debut film as action hero Udumban has run into trouble due to a giant monitor lizard!

The posters of Udumban had Dilip Rogers having giant monitor lizard around his neck. This irked social activist Jegannathan to file a complaint with Animal Welfare Board, that permission was not sought to use the endangered monitor lizard in the film. The complainant has applied for a stay over the movie’s release.

Dilip Rogers said in an interview: “ We had used a real monitor lizard only forthe photo shoot of the film. If you see Udumban, you can see that we have used computer graphics in the film. There is no question of exploiting the reptile.”It is to be noted that TamilNadu regional censor board has given a ‘U’ certification for this movie.

Udumban which was slated for release on February 10 has now been postponed as the producers are trying to sort out the issue and vacate the stay.
