Mammootty’s first Kannada film

Mammootty`s first Kannada film Shikari directed by the National Award winning director Abhay Simha which was shot at a 135 year old house has completed its
shoot now.
Poonam Bajwa is the heroine while Neenaasam Aswath, Achyutha and Sihi Kahi Chandru are playing other important roles in the film. The film will be made simultaneously in Kannada and Malayalam.

Poonam Bajwa will be playing the lead role in both versions of the film. She has already acted in Kannada filmwith Darshan. Abhay Simha who had won lot of accolades and prestigious awards for his first film Gubbachchigalu has finally opted for Poonam who had acted in many Tamil, Telugu films earlier.

Shikari which is written and directed by Abhay Sinha is being produced by the Kannada film producer K.Manju. Besides Mammootty, the Malayalam version has well known artists like Innocent and Suresh Krishna. Audithya and Mohan play important roles in the Kannada version of the film.

Abhay Simha who had to zero in on Poonam Bajwa for the important role says that he is extremely satisfied with his choice. “She was a part of the shooting from the beginning of the second schedule. We saw some of her films and finally confirmed her. She has been doing a good job,“ says Abhay Sinha.
