Mamta will replace Nayanthara in Mammooty starrer Mathilukalkkappuram, a sequel to Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s classic Mathilukal.
Mathilukalkkappuram, is written and directed by debutant Prasad. Mamta is pairing up with Mammootty for the first time in this film.
She had earlier acted in Mammootty flicks like Big B and Bus Conductor, but not as his heroine.
Mamta is essaying the character of Narayani. In Mathilukal Narayani’s voice rendered by KPAC Lalitha was only heard. But now Narayani is going to be shown on screen, with beautiful Mamta playing the role.
The shoot of the film will start in the first week of March in Thanjavur. Mammootty`s Play House will produce the movie.
