Singer and music composer MG Sreekumar always prided himself that he is best suited to be the voice of Mohanlal. In the 80’s and 90’s, his close friendship with Mohanlal and being a part of Mohanlal-Priyadarshan gang helped him to be the official voice of Mohanlal. Sreekumar has sung many super hit songs for him and also got one of his National Awards (His Highness Abdulla) singing for the actor. But by 2000, the new breed of singers took over as Mohanlal’s voice and Sreekumar was relegated to the background. Now after many years Priyadarshan- Mohanlal- MG Sreekumar, team is back with Arabiyum Ottakavum P.Madhavan Nairum (AOPMN). MG Sreekumar is composing music and also will be singing all the songs in the film. It was Priyadarshan who insisted that Sreekuttan composes for AOPMN. Remember MG Sreekumar also composed music for Priyadarshan’s award winning Tamil film Kanchivaram. Recently after years, Sreekuttan sang the hit number for Mohanlal in Oru Naal Varum, but the movie bombed. Let us hope the friendship and bonding between Priyadarshan- Mohanlal- MG Sreekumar, would be able to churn out some hit music for AOPMN.
