No. 66 Madhura Bus stopped in Tamil Nadu

The shooting of upcoming Malayalam film No. 66 Madhura Bus was stopped by the MDMK activists at Thenkasi in Tamil Nadu on Saturday morning in the backdrop of the Mullaperiyar row.

About 40 MDMK activists marched to the location and threatened to attack if the team went ahead with the shooting. The shooting was immediately wound up and crew returned to the base camp at Punaloor in Kerala, the film’s director M.A. Nishad said.

“We had alerted the police about the possibility of the attack since there were rumours on this. The protesters were arguing that shooting of Malayalam films cannot be held in Tamil Nadu as Kerala is insisting on a new dam at Mullaperiyar. So we decided to wind up the shooting to avert any troubles,” he added. Ironically, Tamil actor Pashupathi is in the lead role of the film. Padmapriya, Mallika and Swetha Menon are the heroines.
