No Tamil, says Vidhya

The Kerala born Bollywood actress Vidhya Balan is reported to have turned down an offer to act in a Vikram film, even without giving time to hear its scripts. The story happened when director of the new project of Vikram, Vijay of ‘Madarasipatnam’ fame, approached the actress for doing the lead role.

Vidhya is now said to find happiness by taking vengeance on an industry which had avoided her many a times. In her early days of filmy struggles, Vidhya was first signed up to play the female lead in Lingusamy’s ‘Run’, but was later replaced with Meera Jasmine. The movie went to a big hit and Meera turned out to be a household name in Kollywood. Later when Vidhya was signed up for Srikanth’s ‘Manasellam’, again the crew went for a replacement in Trisha.

Vidya then was approached for the leading lady’s role in ‘Dasavatharam’ with Kamal, but remembering her earlier experiences she refused the role which later went to Asin. There also seems to be a similar case with her in Mollywood when she was replaced for a project with Mohanlal, which never took off.

Anyhow, the actress who is on a high after inspiring popular roles in ‘Ishiquiya’ and ‘Paa’, finds this a better time to concentrate on her Bollywood career than any others.
