Padmapriya’s Bengali debut!

In the few Tamil films that she has done, Padmapriya has proved she is great eye candy and an even better actress! Her biggest asset is her readiness to try different characters, irrespective of the glamour or lack thereof. While she had no qualms accepting in the glam role in Pattiyal, she was equally happy to don the burkha in Pokkisham.

Idrundhu, Sattham Podaathey, Mirugam, Striker, Pazhassi Raja and Irumbu Kottai Morattu Singam are ample proof of her acting prowess. Now the award winning actress is all set to make her Bengali debut opposite Prosenjit in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Aparajita.

“Director Aniruddha met me after the National Awards in Delhi. Having read the script, I must say that I like the role of Kuhu. As for Prosenjit, I watched Moner Manush and loved the movie. We were felicitated together in Goa this year but, even then, I didn’t expect to be doing a movie with him in Bengali. Unfortunately, I will not be going down to Kolkata to shoot this film since it will be shot completely in San Francisco,” Padmapriya said to a leading daily.
