Popular Malayalam-Tamil-Kannada heroine Remya Nambeesan used to be a typical girl-next-door in all her early films, starting from her debut Aanachandam in 2006. But she shed her demure image for first time for Traffic and now, in Chappa Kurishu, she attempts her first ever on-screen smooch.
Talking about her image makeover, the actress said that she is getting immense response. “The feedback has been amazing. Almost all the industry people called up to convey their appreciation and I feel I am finally getting my due.”
Remya agreed that it took some nerve to accept the sultry role in Chappa Kurishu. “I was doing a smooch scene for the first time and was a bundle of nerves. But I was ready to accept whatever comes out of it, be it stones or roses. My only tension was if I would be able to do complete justice to the character,” she added.
She revealed that she was not bothered about any sort of criticism. “The smooch scene was not included for masala. It’s an integral part of the narrative, something essential for the progression of the plot. While briefing me on the scene, the director had assured me that it would be shot sensibly and aesthetically. He also promised that he would never make me regret doing it.”
The pretty lass also said that her kitty is now full with two Telugu projects and a couple of unannounced Malayalam films in hand. Her immediate project in Malayalam is Pigman with Jayasurya.
