Actress Vindhya, who made her debut in the film Sangamam, had filed for divorce some months ago. While this case has been pending in the family court, the actress and her husband Gopalakrishnan alias Gopi filed for divorce under mutual consent. Their divorce will be through after the six-month waiting period.
Gopi is actress Banu Priya’s brother. It was an arranged marriage, said Vindhya at the time of her wedding on February 16th, 2008 at the Guruvayoor Temple. While Gopalakrishnan was seen in the film Vaakumoolam, Vindhya had acted in films like Azhagu Nilayam and Ayutham Seivom. It may be mentioned here that Vindhya campaigned for the AIADMK during the previous state assembly elections.
