35 theatres for Enthiran, Kannada producers angry

The decision of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to allow the release of Endhiran and its two dubbed versions in 35 theatres around the state has angered the Kannada film producers.
The Kannada film producers have now decided to give a memorandum to the President of KFCC protesting this. KFCC is now allowing the non Kannada films to be screened in only 24 theatres around the state. Though this regulatory mechanism has been challenged in the courts, the chamber never changed rules till now.

On Tuesday the executive members of KFCC decided to allow more screens as three versions of Enthiran is getting released. The issue was hotly discussed in a marathon meeting and as a one time measure it was decided to allow eleven more screens for the film to be released in three languages.

The Kannada film producers have decided to organise a `dharna` with the support of pro-Kannada activists on Wednesday afternoon. They have called for a special meeting at KFCC to discuss the issue.
