MUMBAI: It all started with the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ That was Anil Kapoor’s ticket to Hollywood and he went on to become famous across the globe, courtesy his act in the Academy award winning film directed by Danny Boyle.
With acclaim coming in from all quarters, it wasn’t long before Anil was offered a pivotal part in the hit prime time Hollywood TV series ‘24’ alongside Kiefer Sutherland.
Moving on, the latest buzz is that Anil has struck gold again. The actor has been confirmed for the fourth installment in the ‘Mission Impossible’ series with Hollywood action star Tom Cruise.
The film, which is being directed by Brad Bird (of ‘The Incredibles’ fame), will start shooting under the working title ‘Aries’. J J Abrams, who directed the third film in the series, will be writing the script for the film with Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum.
Earlier reports said that Anil would be playing the role of one of the villains in the film. However, sources now state that Anil will be seen essaying an integral supporting role who is not a villain. The exact nature of the role has not yet been revealed.
Speaking about the latest development in his career, Anil confirms the news but remains tightlipped about his role. “At this point, I can only say that I have been contacted for ‘Mission Impossible 4’ and I have said yes to the role offered to me.”
