Avatharam is an action packed thriller movie directed by hit maker joshy, after Salaam Kashmir. The movie features Dileep and Lakshmi Menon in the lead role.
The movie revolves around an educated villager who comes to the city to stay with his brother’s family and the problems he faces there. The movie is produced by the scenarist duo, Udaya Krishna-Sibi K Thomas under their production banner Four B Productions. Story Madhavan (Dileep), an educated youth from a small village of Idukki, comes to Kochi to stay with his brother’s family after his brother’s sudden death. His brother Sudhakaran (Ganesh) was a customs officer. He was found dead in a mysterious circumstance and Madhavan doubts that it is a cold-blooded murder. In the mean time, he befriends an insurance agent Manimeghala (Lakshmi Menon) and falls in love with her. Madhavan’s struggles to find the mystery behind his brother’s death forms the rest of the story….

Though Vyasan Edavanakkad’s script takes the formulaic pattern perhaps to woo the family crowds, director Joshiy has managed to come out with a decent entertainer. R D Rajasekhar’s visuals and Deepak Dev’s music are good.

Dileep treads through a different path this time, as he experiments with a genre in which he has come on screen very rarely. Though there are action in the film, the hero is mostly a mere spectator and uses his brain more than his physique to take on his rivals.

Lakshmi Menon, who has become a sensation in Tamil, returns to Malayalam with lots of confidence. Her character requires having a certain charm and the actor performs with remarkable ease.

‘Avatharam’ is a simple family story incorporated with humorous situations. Sreejaya, Kalabhavan Shajon, Joy Mathew, Babu Nambootiri, Saddique, Mithun Ramesh, and Shammi Thilakan also include the cast list. The movie is produced by Udaykrishna-Siby K Thomas team, Dileep Kunnath, and Vyasan Edavanakkad under the banner of 4 B Productions.
