Young superstar Prithviraj’s debut Hindi film Ayya, directed by Sachin Kundalkar and produced by Anurak Kashyap, will start rolling in Mumbai from the first week of October. Rani Mukherjee is the heroine.
Set in the backdrop of a Mumbai based Marathi family, the film has Rani playing a typical Marathi girl dressed in salwars. Prithviraj will be playing a Tamil painter who speaks Hindi with a South Indian accent.
Ayya also marks the Bollywood debut of National Award winning Marathi director Sachin Kundalkar. Prithviraj said that he agreed to do this project not because he fancies doing a Hindi film, but because he found Anurag’s script interesting.
