The big question being asked in the trade is whether the Joshy directed multi-starrer Christian Brothers will release this year?
Sources close to producer Subair has confirmed that the film will make it to screens in Kerala by November end. So what happens to the other Mohanlal film Kandahar which has announced a December 9 release?
There is a tug of war going on between Subair and Antony Perumbavoor, over the release of the next Mohanlal film. Antony is vehement that Christian Brothers can release only after Kandahar.
His argument is that originally the Joshy directed Mohanlal film was to release on October 22, but it got postponed as the work was not complete. Antony’s point is that you can’t now have have back to back Mohanlal releases within a gap of two weeks.
However, producer Subair is clear that his Christian Brothers will release on November 26 and they have already confirmed over 100 screens in Kerala.
Mohanlal who is now shooting for Casanova in Dubai is expected to take a final call on it. He has promised to dub for the film once he comes back towards the end of this month.
It looks like Kandahar will now be pushed to Christmas.
