I was the first choice for Bezawada: Preetika

We know that upcoming Malayalam-Tamil actress Amala Paul, well known for her roles in Neelathamara, Mynaa and Deiva Thiirumagal, is marking her Tollywood debut through Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming Naga Chaitanya starrer Bezawada Rowdilu (Telugu) from which the word “Rowdilu” has been deleted.

But actress Preetika, who shot to fame with Chikku Bhukku in Tamil, claimed that she was the first choice of the film and was replaced by Amala Paul only because of non-availability of dates.

“I was personally selected by Ram Gopal Varma for his Bezawada Rowdilu, directed by Vivek. But, I had to back out of the movie due to non-availability of dates. We mutually decided that he should go ahead with another actress as Chaitanya was free only in August. So, Amala Paul was selected for my role,” she added.

The actress maintained that she had no difference of opinions with the director. “The decision to opt out of the film was mutual. Vivek is highly appreciative of my work and I’m sure we will get to work together in future. I have no animosity towards Amala and I wish her my best.”
