Prakash Jha is now working on the sequel of “Rajneeti” and Katrina Kaif has been chosen to play the female lead in the sequel too. As we saw in “Rajneeti” that many of the cast died in the film, so apart from Katrina Kaif, the cast is not getting repeated in the sequel. The original film “Rajneeti” had Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Rampal and Naseeruddin Shah in important roles. However, Ranbir Kapoor has turned down the offer of being a part of the sequel.
Now Ms Kat is really very excited to have signed in for the sequel too. She says “Rajneeti” and the sequel both the films’ scripts are very entertaining. Also the makers have worked really hard on the script of the film for a long span of time. Kat also added that the concept of the film is quite innovative and superb. She hopes that everything should fall in the right place. Katrina really likes the characters in the film “Rajneeti 2”.
Kat says that Prakash Jha is momentarily busy with another flick “Satyagraha” which stars Amitabh Bachchan, but in the meantime discussions with her regarding the script of “Rajneeti 2” is also taking place. Katrina has got to know the story of the film, though she has not read the entire script of the film, as it will take some more time for the completion of the pre-filming phrase. Katrina also expressed her desire to work with film maker Prakash Jha once again.
“Rajneeti” was a political thriller, and the sequel too is to be made on the same genre. The original film was directed as well as produced by Prakash Jha while the screenplay was written by Mr Jha and Anjum Rajabali. The entire shooting of “Rajneeti” took place in Bhopal. The film had its base parallel with the epic Mahabharata where the legendary figures of Krishna, Arjun, Duryodhan, Karna, Bheema can be found. Similarly in “Rajneeti” such similar roles were played by Nana Patekar (Krishna), Ranbir Kapoor (Arjun), Arjun Rampal (Bheema), Manoj Bajpayee (Duryodhan) and Ajay Devgn (Karna).
“Rajneeti” released in 2010 on June 4th, it also contained some elements which bore resemblance with Maria Puzo’s novel “The Godfather”. However after the film’s release it was a hot spot of controversies, as many issues were raised about the usage of national anthem in the film, then the resemblance of the onscreen characters with some real life personalities.
“Rajneeti 2” is also going to be on Indian politics and democracy. It pivots around a few politicians and leaders of the country, who rule the country and also rule the destinies of the millions of population. The film also focusses on ambitions which can never be fulfilled and stopped, and the fierce battle which takes place in order to achieve the ambitions. As Katrina Kaif has already been finalised to play the role of politician in the flick, the other cast has not yet decided upon. The chemistry of Ranbir-Katrina sizzled onscreen, but unfortunately they wont be seen together in the sequel of “Rajneeti”.
