Mammooka postponed 1993 Bombay release

Hats off to Mammootty, a true lover of good cinema.

His 1993 Bombay, March 12 the directorial debut of noted screenwriter Babu Janardhanan was due for release on June 24.

The same day Salim Kumar’s National award winner Adaminte Makan Abu is releasing all over Kerala.

The critically acclaimed Adaminte Makan Abu, which has won four National and four Kerala State awards and directed by Salim Ahamed was to clash with Bombay, March 12 distributed by Mammootty’s Play House.

Adaminte Makan Abu is releasing through National Award winning actor Salim Kumar’s own company Laughing Villa. Dileep is helping Salim Kumar through his Manjunatha to get the theatres in Kerala. If both
the films release on the same day it will cut into each other’s business.

So the large hearted Megastar went out of his way to help Salim Kumar and his Adaminte Makan Abu, by postponing his Play House distributed 1993 Bombay, March 12 by a week to June 30.

Three cheers to Mammooka, who had booked his theatres well in advance but saw to it that a critically acclaimed film starring a man who got a National award gets a solo release.
