KOCHI: South Indian star Mammootty is all set to launch his home production tentatively titled ‘Mathilukalkapuram’.
In a statement to the media, Mammootty confirms that the film is going to keep him busy for the next few months. On reports that the film is a sequel to ‘Mathilukal’, the actor says that it isn’t.
However, there are uncanny resemblances between the protagonists of ‘Mathilukal’ and ‘Mathilukalkapuram’. Mammootty says that the story of ‘Mathilukalkapuram’ may be described as an annex to his 1989 National Award winning film.
Mammootty will play the male protagonist in the 2010 venture but the female lead has not been confirmed as of yet. He says that he wants to rope in an actress who is fluent in Malayalam. On the other hand, the South Indian superstar has also been a part of several Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. His latest, ‘Shikari’, is in Kannada.
