Cinema and politics, especially in South India go hand in hand. Following the trend, several actors in Tollywood have already stepped into politics and the latest entrant is veteran actor Balakrishna, who recently announced that he would plunge into active politics and contest on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party in the 2014 assembly elections!
Now, ask Mahesh Babu about his political aspirations and pat comes the reply. “I am not cut out for politics. These rumours are baseless. I am not interested in politics and acting remains my first and last passion. I don’t know the ABC of politics, so its better that I keep away. I would even go to the extent of stating that taking me into politics would be as disastrous as taking my four-year- old son,” he said.
The star’s reply is a bit surprising because his kin is a state minister and his father-actor Krishna was an MP from Eluru. Meanwhile, when asked about his wife Namrata’s pregnancy, Mahesh Babu said that it’s too early to talk about. I’ll definitely let everyone know by the month end. Be it a boy or girl, it should be a healthy child, Mahesh Babu added.
