The just returned super power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar from USA after taking part in 6th World Kannada Conference of AKKA (American Kannada Koota Association) in New Jersey has found the film fans in large numbers for Kannada films.
”The Kannada audiences are more in USA and other parts of the world. Most of them are leading sophisticated life and not in the working class. They know everything about the latest of the filmdom. They enjoy commercial and comedy films. They have seen the DVD’s of various films and react quickly”, observed Puneeth Rajakumar.
When one fan of Dr Rajakumar in Washington met Puneeth Rajakumar he was baffled. He apparently asked Puneeth if he was Dr Rajkumar’s son and told he still watches Dr Rajkumar’s films.
On the issue of tapping market Puneeth Rajakumar disclosed that his ‘Jackie’ will be simultaneously released in Dubai, UAE, some parts of USA. ‘Jackie’ at post production stage presently, is slated for release in the third week of October 2010.
”Like in Bangalore, the film audience has to reach theatres is difficult. They should be fed with good Kannada films in continuity. There are enough of awesome cinema lovers for Kannada. The proper channel is what we have to collectively think to tap the overseas market for Kannada cinema”, says Puneeth Rajakumar.
Puneeth Rajakumar had a hectic time in meeting his 30 plus friends in USA. “It was nice meeting people and the amazing factor of over 4000 Kannada speaking people assembling at New Jersey on all the three days of 6th WKC. It was a wonderful event of AKKA”, lauded Puneeth Rajakumar.
