Arulnithi , grandson of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi who had a successful launch in Pandiraj directed Vamsam, has started shoot of his new film titled Udhayan.
The film is being produced by Prabhakaran and directed by debutant Chaplin
Unlike his earlier film Vamsam which had a rural milieu Udhayan is a city based flick.
Arulnithi wants to do films in different genres. Chaplin’s city based subject attracted him to the script. Bangalore girl Praneetha is the heroine.
Legendary Saxophone player Kadri Gopalnath’s son and upcoming music director Manikanth Kadri is debuting in Tamil with the film.
Manikanth has done music for a lot of Kannada and Telugu films. Vijay Milton is the cinematographer.
