Chinnakuyil Chitra after the tragic death of her only child Nandana in a swimming pool accident in Dubai, was in a state of shock.
The music world has been missing the legendary singer who has recorded more than 15,000 film songs and is a recipient of six National Film Awards, five Filmfare Awards and more than thirty different state film awards.
Last Wednesday Chitra once again sang a lullaby for a Malayalam film appropriately titled Istham + Sneham= Amma. The recording took place in a Chennai studio under the baton of music director and famous singer MG Sreekumar.
Chitra was in tears as she sang the song about a mother’s love for her daughter.
Singer and actress Mamta Mohandas who later heard the song tweeted: “Heard a few lines of the new song Chitra chechi’s recorded. A lullaby that goes ‘Amma’.Can’t think of the emotions she would have fought while singing it.”
