Director Tarsem Singh, the man behind several hit music videos and commercials, is ready with his epic drama Immortals starring Indian beauty Freida Pinto, Superman Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and the handsome Kellan Lutz of Twilight fame. With such a fantastic cast, Tarsem has indeed achieved a casting coup of sorts.
This upcoming 2011 fantasy-action drama film is expected to release this November in 3D. Freida plays Phaedra, an oracle priestess who can see the future, but only if she remains a virgin. She helps Theseus, played by Henry Cavil, in his fight against Hyperion, essayed by Mickey Rourke. As per Tarsem, “She’s conflicted. Her ability helps Theseus, but it also prevents her from being the fully realized woman she wants to be.”
The film was previously named Dawn of War and War of the Gods before being officially named Immortals and is loosely based on the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur and the Titanomachy.
