Anil Kapoor, who debuted in Hindi films in the early eighties in the remake of K. Bhagyaraj’s ‘Andha 7 Naatkal’ (Woh Saat Din), went on to act in many Hindi remakes of successful Tamil films like ‘Thevar Magan’, ‘Mannan’, etc.
Anil is now set to woo Tamil fans in a film co-starring Kamal Haasan, The film would be a bilingual affair and would be shot simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil, it is learnt.
Kamal and Anil recently met in Chennai and spoke to each other during the latter’s visit to the city. Anil reportedly expressed his desire to act alongside Kamal in a film; Kamal is said to have told him to first get the script ready. Anil is buoyed by the positive response from Kamal Haasan.
“I have always remained a great fan of Kamal Haasan. I have starred in the Hindi remakes of many of his Tamil films. Now that I have got an opportunity to share screen space with him, I’m extremely happy. I have said many a time even in Mumbai that I’m an ardent fan of Kamal,” said an excited Anil Kapoor.
The rest of the details would be worked out later and intimated to the press, it was informed. If it comes about, it would also be Kamal’s first Hindi film in more than two decades.
