The Osmania University (OU) Students Joint Action Committee said that it would not allow Pawan Kalyan starrer Komarum Puli to be screened in Telangana. In a statement, the committee leaders said that the film had usurped the name of Komarum Bheem to be affixed as its tag.
“The film is produced by Andhra region producers and their intention is to hoodwink the people of Telangana with false contention that they are for singing the glory of Telangana. The family members of Chiranjeevi and Allu Arvind, who belong to Coastal Andhra have no moral right to spread any message for Telangana,” the committee said.
Earlier, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders too threatened to halt the movie in Telangana, but this particular political party remains silent at present.
Meanwhile, the film is all set for a world release on September 10. Produced by Singanamala Ramesh and directed by SJ Surya, the flick has a Delhi girl Nikisha Patel as heroine. AR Rehman scored music.
