Although Venkat Prabhu made a miscalculation of releasing Mankatha on Ajith’s birthday on May 1, 2011, the film has still not released. Reports suggested that Dhayanidhi Alagiri was not able to pay up actors’ and technicians’ dues, after several failures, which resulted in the delay in the making.
However, that could be unlikely. Venkat Prabhu was not able to complete Mankatha while Yuvan Shankar Raja is still churning out tracks. The producers are not able to release the audio yet. The film has gone to the post production stage.
Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu has announced that Mankatha will release on August 15, 2011. The Independence Day of India and Actor Arjun’s birthday falls on this day. The actor also releases his films on Independence Day most of the times. Action King Arjun is also playing a pivotal role in Mankatha. Coincidentally, the film is also to release on the same day which is his favorite day of the year.
