PT Kunju Mohammed’s historical Veeraputhran is making brisk progress in Kozhikode.
The film based on the life of freedom fighter Mohammed Abdul Rahiman (1898 – 1945) focuses on the eventful history of Malabar during India’s independence struggle.
Veeraputhran is about the life of Mohammed Abdul Rahiman, with Narain playing the lead. Raima Sen plays the role of Rahiman’s wife Kunhi Beevathu.
The cast also includes Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Siddique, Kalabhavan Mani, Sai Kumar, Devan, Valsala Menon, and Sajitha Madathil.
The period drama is being shot on sets created by art director Bobban in Kozhikode, Mukkam, Ottapalam and Kodungaloor. National Award winning make-up man Pattanam Rasheed is doing the make up for Narain’s Rahiman look.
Don Max is doing spot editing of the film which is being shot by cameraman MJ Radhakrishnan.
Veeraputhran is going to be another feather in Narain’s actor career. The film has been scheduled as a September release.
