Sekhar Kanmula’s Anand was a path breaking Telugu film which was also a huge commercial hit. Now Viswas N.Sundar has made a faithful remake of the original with a fresh pair of Suchin and Nargis in the lead.
The film opens with a car accident in which Rupa (Nargis) parents are killed due to carelessness of a drunken driver. Rupa becomes orphaned but friends and neighbours give her support and she stands on her own feet with a good job. Now she is all ready to marry Rahul (Sarfaraz), her colleague.
On parallel lines, Anand (Suchin) is an US returned guy who is forced to attend a family friend’s wedding. He meets Rupa, the bride at the hall and its love at first sight for him. But soon the wedding is called off and Anand is the happiest as he starts wooing her. But all is not smooth for our hero.
Suchin, son of yesteryear actress Vyjayanthimala has a well-etched out role and he proves himself to a very large extent. Nargis shines in a performance oriented role. On the whole this love story will appeal to family audiences.
