CHENNAI: Shanthnoo might have made his debut with Sakkarakati, but the actor feels that the film that will truly launch him as a hero would be Siddhu Plus 2, directed by his father K Bhagyaraj. “Sakkarakati was a light-hearted romantic film. But this will be a different one altogether. The film will satisfy both the new-age audience as well as the good old fans of director Bhagyaraj. It has comedy, action and romance. The second half of the film will be play on the typical Bhagyaraj element — family sentiment,” says the hero. How was it to act under his father’s direction? “Appa has directed even the Big B. So, expectations from me have been high, as he is directing me for the first time. I have put in a lot of effort. There was a lot of pressure, but it all feels worth it, now that the film has come out so well,” says Shanthnoo, who is busy with two other projects — Kandaen and Aayiram Vilaku.
Siddhu Plus 2 is about a plus two student who fails to clear his exams. The film is all set to hit the screens this Friday, and the Junior Bhagyaraj is quite excited.
“My next film, Kandaen’s audio rights have been bought by Gautham Menon. My character here is very different. Aayiram Vilaku with Sathyaraj sir is also completed. But right now, my focus is on Siddhu Plus 2,” smiles Shanthnoo and signs off.
