Sonia has certain blitheness to her.
Today, the actress is happy and has become more confident, assertive and bold. She has always kept away from giving sensational interviews even after a dignified and amicable divorce with director Selvaraghavan.
She has moved on beautifully and is focussed on her movie career and trying hard to get a foothold in the industry, trying to prove a common saying “films never give you a second chance” wrong. She has got back to shape and is working on four projects.
And on Thursday (July 21) night she held a birthday bash for her mom Asha. Sonia who is said to be very close to her family, organised this get-together at her apartment which saw some of her close friends from the industry, to be with the family and cheer them and make her day special.
“I am the happiest person now. I am more composed and content than I have been ever before. I am trying to redesign my career and thankfully I am doing character driven roles in my upcoming films, beyond playing desi Barbies”
Ask her whether it is difficult for a girl to be on her own and she nods: “Yes, it is but I have become very strong. Adversity has made me realise my inner strength. I am happy that I have faced a lot at a young age and I know God will protect me because I am not conniving or manipulative”.
