We are not talking about the bubbly expressions for which both the actresses are famous for. But Genelia has bagged the role played by Jyothika in the Hindi version of ‘Kaakkha Kaakkha’, starring John Abraham in the lead role.
It was Asin who was reportedly approached for the Vipul Shah’s venture at first. Then did rounds the names of Sonam Kapoor and Diana Penty. However, Genelia has been roped in for the role now, reports say.
The film, a cop story filled with action as people in these parts know, will be directed by Nishikant Kamath who has earlier directed the critically acclaimed Marathi film ‘Dombivali fast’ and ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’.
“Genelia is thrilled to be a part of the project as she has watched the Tamil version and is aware of the importance the female lead character has. She is keen to repeat the magic of Jyothika, but in her own style”, according to a source.
